From Cardiff, CA, Chicago Six is one of the country's most respected bands. They've been around for more than 20 years; after first starting to play as a pickup band to fill in on Friday nights with Dixie style music at the Belly-Up Tavern. Many of the band's members are vets of some of the best-known jazz organizations in the country, including Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Mugsy Spanier, Bobby Hackett, Les Brown, Lawrence Welk and Tex Beneke.
Leader and bass player is Bob Finch. Hal Smith is the drummer and Si Perkhoff plays piano. On tenor sax and clarinet is Bob McKewen, Lloyd Hebert, trombone; Donnie Clark, trumpet; Dick Hamilton, trumpet, flute and auto horn . And, if you count them up Chicago 6 now totals 8 members!
